what is it
AAE holds a K-12 writing contest every year. Writing topics for elementary, middle, and high school Asian-American students are given during January. Email notifications are also sent out to ESL teachers and school principals. Writing entries are accepted until late April. The AAE Writing Contest Committee review and score the entries with the Pennsylvania Writing Assessment Rubric. Entries with the highest scores in each grade level will be announced in early May. Winners of the writing contest will be awarded with certificates and monetary prizes at AAE's Annual Fundraising Banquet in May. Parents, teachers, and principals are invited to the banquet to celebrate their child's/student's success.
